ViPS to hire up to 80 after winning new contract

If you are looking for a job in the health care technology field,a new contract won by General Dynamics Information Technology’s ViPS subsidiary could be good news for you.

Towson-based ViPS is adding between 70 and 80 jobs as a result of a new $80.3 million contract with the U.S.Department of Health and Human Services to design software for HHS’s Early Retiree Reinsurance Program.Four other subcontractors that will work with ViPS on the contract will add another 30 jobs.

All of the new jobs will be in Baltimore County,where ViPS already employs about 600people in Towson and Woodlawn,said Fronda Cohen,a spokeswoman for the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development.

The cpmpanies working with ViPS on the contract are Baltimore-based Marcom Systems Inc.,Columbia-based Saxon Infotech Inc.,New York-based Group Health Inc.and San Mateo,Calif.-based Telesys Telesys Software Inc.,of San Mateo,Calif.

ViPS has opening for testers,trainers,analysts and senior programs,among other positions,said Shalina Warren,a spokeswoman for General Dynamics IT.The jobd range in salary in salary from from $50,000 to $150,000.
